The Written Word
I've come to learn that the written word/is a marvelous tool in life/ for it brings us close/ to family, friends, and strangers alike.
The paper/no matter what color/or what is inscribed/ pales/ to the words written inside.
For the written word/ tells many things/that we really want to hear/from sympathy/to encouragement/to cheer.
But best of all/the words we see/are written in the end/ love/love you/I love you/ mom, dad, sister, brother/ or just friend. (JMS- 2007)
Then on to see a man of action, what is a walker without wheels. Wonder where he got those beauties, I could use some that size on my walk to Fred Meyers store.
And then on to our clever cartoonist who manage to 'tell it as it is' when it comes to the problem we face about lowering the deficit. The numbers are frightening, never have I heard such numbers . . . me, who thought one hundred dollars was a fortune at one time . . . boy, live and learn, a hundred dollars today is like a dollar bill and goes just about as far.
I will end with Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 . . ."There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven: A time for giving birth, a time for dying: a time for planting, a time for uprooting what has been planted. A time for killing, a time for healing: a time for knocking down, a time for building. A time for tears, at time for laughter. a time for mourning, a time for dancing. A time for throwing stones away. A time for gathering them, a time for embracing. A time to refrain from embracing. A time for searching, a time for losing: a time for keeping, a time for discarding. A time for tearing, a time for sewing, a time for keeping silent, a time for speaking. A time for loving, a time for hating: a time for war, a time for peace."
So today, when you are heading home for a nice long weekend, know that you have time . . . time to make your weekend meaningful . . . share YOU with your family and friends and make laughter fill the air. Winter will not last forever, soon the baby sheep will be filling the pastures and sunshine will prevail . . . aah, warmth, sunshine, a time to look forward to. All we have to do is survive February and a bit of March . . . we can do that! Hugs to all.
