Dee's special day and we all met at O'Hallaran's Restaurant to celebrate. As you can see the new camera is great but the photographer isn't doing a terrific job yet, be patient, the pictures will improve when I find out how to edit them before I put them on the blog. I love the one of Maggie reflected in the mirror. She looked very lovely in her pink shirt with sparkles, very festive and that smile of hers is always a welcome sight. Peat wore his Sultan hat and Darlene had a special package to open as they had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. These two folks are special . . . the dauntless duo, as they let nothing hold them back. Susy is our newest birthday 'member' and a delightful lady with a keen sense of humor. And, the picture of Pat is a bit on the fuzzy side and doesn't do her justice. She looked very beautiful in a deep blue blouse and her new Christmas sweater. All in all we had a lot of laughs as Dee opened her presents and loved the vintage mermaids, along with the chocolate candle in a wine glass. Of course there were 'smellies' a beautiful bottle of beauty and bath cream and of course my new Short Stories, and she has her own birthday plate for future birthdays and a gorgeous blue scarf that she wore for the rest of the evening. She was 'Queen' for the night and it didn't hurt at all to add one more year. I would venture to say a good time was had by all and the food was excellent, service with a smile and we get to do it all over again come March when Peat celebrates his special day.
So today, I hope you have a birthday party to go to as they really are fun. There is something about getting together with a few friends and finding words and laughter to share. The gifts are always a boon and the thought appreciated by the recipient, but it is the camaraderie and the hugs that make it all very special. Birthdays are to be celebrated, no matter what age, and don't let anyone tell you any different.. Hugs to all.
