A Little Love

A huge storm is howling on the East coast and snow is falling so my friends are out shoveling when there is a break in the storm. It sounds like it is 'the storm' of the year as it is coming at them from the south and the west. I am waiting for Pauline to write and tell me all about it. Here we have rain so it has warmed u a little and I find no reason to complain about that.

I had a chance to go card shopping yesterday and that is always fun. The new cards are smaller and funnier so it was not hard to choose a couple for a birthday person or two. It is fun to make a new 'card' friend at the counter as you laugh out loud and the person, you do not know, starts to wonder if you are all there, only to be shown the card and join you in the laughter.
Daughter Pat and I did have lunch at the new tea room and found that the homemade onion soup was delectable, as was the croissant chicken salad sandwich with avocado and cranberries. The lovely white tea pot held delicious teas which they specialize in and the tiny cup and saucer just added a little pinkie lifting to our tea party. It was a bit on the pricey side but then you do have to pay for the ambiance. I hope the ladies will be successful. The plan is to have a different home made soup every day as well as a sandwich, and of course, a desert. Yesterday it was cheese cake and special brownies but we did not indulge to bulge.
The beautiful dog is Chase and my niece and her husband are proud owners of this 'puppy' who rules their roost. the write up with the picture was funny as John M. told of how well the dog lives and in the end he decided he had to be a Democrat. What a sense of humor this man has.
The caption on the other pictures were about love in its varied forms. I love the fellow in the wheel chair and his lady love who just doesn't let go. How wonderful to have someone in your life that is always there just for you. The picture of sorrow is another form of love which we all have to go through in our lives. The child's hand brings to mind that life does go on and we have to do what we have to do to survive our tears as well as our laughter. How strong we are, and we don't even realize it until 'stuff' happens. Know the candle stays lit for each and everyone of you to enable you to 'face' your world of ups and downs.
And then there is the jeep loaded with decals and flags which Pat and Erin decorated with a "Duck" theme when they went to pick up John and Jo at the airport in Medford. John is an "Oregon Beaver" and Erin an "Oregon Duck" so they have some fun teasing each other when the big game is a foot. John didn't expect such a greeting and is still laughing. The sad thing for Erin is that the Ducks lost the football game in the last seconds. All the way to the Nationals and they worked so hard to get there. Maybe next year.
So today, when you go out to shovel snow, or to slosh in the rain, put a smile on your face and think about someone you love and stop by a card shop and find that special card to remind them you are thinking about them and sending a hug. Think what a day brighter that will be. Go . . . make today special, just like you. Hugs to all.
