Aah, the Christmas stories are beginning to come through on the computer and my e-mail is filled with stories to make tears come to my eyes. How can one not look at this picture and wonder. A stray dog with no place to go cuddled up in the manger with a doll representing Jesus. The dog didn't care as it sought refuge for the night and maybe, just maybe, we can learn a lesson that is okay to curl up with Jesus from time to time and find a little comfort in the hubbub that goes on during the holiday season.
This morning the story was about a lady and her husband that took their son out for a breakfast at MacDonald's , and as they stood in line people were moving away because two street people were standing in line unwashed, smelly and waiting to buy a cup of coffee and warm up for a few minutes. This woman looked into the eyes of one man to see smiling eyes . . . I love smiling eyes . . .and she did what no one else would do, she allowed them the dignity to buy their coffee and sit quietly but she knew they needed more and she bought them each a breakfast knowing that everyone has that spark of Christ within, all we have to do is look for it.
So today when you are out and about keep looking and you may find that one person who could use a 'hug' and don't hesitate to be kind. I 'fed' the red bucket of the Salvation Army at the store yesterday and the volunteer with his bell gave me a smile and a greeting that made my day. The need is great this year so open up the pocketbooks and the wallets and let the moths fly out . . . share . . . isn't that a lovely word, and put a smile on someones face. It really is catching and I am betting you will smile for the rest of the day. Along with Faith comes Hope, followed by Charity . . . Some things never change and that is 'a good thing'. Hugs to all.
